Scarborough – April 2, Scarborough-Agincourt MPP Aris Babikian secured a donation of 8,000 medical masks for Scarborough Health Network (SHN).
The masks are currently in high demand due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. In light of this donation, MPP Aris Babikian stated “that these masks will help and support nurses and doctors currently working to ensure our community remains safe and healthy despite the pressures on our healthcare system”. MPP Babikian added that “he would like to express his thanks and heartfelt appreciation to Lynn Qi, President of Investar Global Financial Group for her generous donation”.
The donation by Investar Global Financial Group reaffirms the drive by Ontario’s Government to mobilize the corporate sector to ensure that they work in partnership with governments from all levels to help in the fight against COVID-19. The donation is also a demonstration that Ontarians regardless of background are now standing shoulder to shoulder and heeding calls from Premier Doug Ford and Ontario’s government to work together to ensure that our medical community is supplied with protective equipment and to ensure that they are safe on the job.
Such generous act is heartwarming and indicative that the Ontario Spirit that has brought communities together at this difficult time. We would like to extend our gratitude to Emily Law for facilitating the donation. Additionally, officials from SHN were grateful for the support that they are receiving from MPP Babikian and Global Financial Group at this very difficult time.
